Universe Has 2 Trillion Galaxies, New Study Finds

A recent study claims that the Universe has 10 times more galaxies than we previously thought.

An international team of scientists led by professor of Astrophysics at the University of Nottingham Christopher Conselice, converted deep space images collected over 20 years by the Hubble Space Telescope and other sources, into 3D model to measure the number of galaxies at different times in the history of the universe. The result was a mind-boggling 2 trillion galaxies, each containing billions of stars.

This doesn’t mean that the universe is bigger than we previously thought, but what the scientists found is that there are lots of little galaxies that have previously gone undetected.
