The company has collected data for over 100 crore square feet across the country in the three years since its inception. 50% of this data has been collected in the last 6 months. Housing employs an intricate property verification process that involves collecting nearly 90 fields of data, analysing data quality and processing of the data by its Data Science Lab.

Gupta’s appointment as CEO is as off immediately and comes a week after co-founder Rahul Yadav was ousted from the post. A former Flipkart employee, Gupta has apparently been running Housing for the past few months as the whole Rahul Yadav controversy unfolded. Harsh Chawla, the firm’s first angel investor, Abhishek Anand CFO and Rishabh Gupta will join the operating committee.

The announcement follows a spat between Housing co-founder Rahul Yadav and the investors. Housing.com is ranked at 137 among websites in India, up by 400 positions, due to increased traffic onto the site. The app, on the other hand, has registered over 1.2 million downloads and has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars. The company claims the success is a resultant of the massive rebranding it undertook recently as well as its expansion into new cities in India.
