Bangalore based CloudMagic which earlier launched Twitter/Gmail search extension has launched the next version of the product that goes deeper into ‘personal data’ search, i.e. now you can search through Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote, Box, iCloud, AOL, mail.com, GMX, in addition to Gmail, Google Apps, Twitter and MS Exchange.
The service now lets you search through pretty much all the possible consumer data services and as far as traction is concerned, the team shares that they have 100K users.
Importantly, the 2.0 version of CloudMagic gives you a snapshot view of all your data and allows you to quickly preview content and take common actions like open attachments, reply, forward, retweet.
The challenge with personal data search apps has been very simple : They don’t get a top-of-the-mind recall, as you do not need them, till you need them.
The app is now available for browsers as well as iPhone/iPad and Android. Do give it a shot and share your comments.
