Rehan Yar Khan, one of India’s prominent investor who has made investments as Seed, Series A and Series B investor in many startup companies, has raised INR 300 Crore for his maiden Venture Capital fund Orios Venture Partners, highlighting the growing interests of Angel Investors in the startup market.
Khan, who a founding member of Indian Angel Network’s (IAN) Mumbai Chapter has made 19 angel investments, 15 of which have made remarkable growth.
He is one of the first investors in car rental service provider Olacabs and security software maker Druva. His angel investments have attracted follow on rounds from VCs like Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Tiger Global, Matrix Partners, IDG Ventures and Inventus Capital. Some of his recent investments include Snaplion, IndiaCollegeSearch and PrettySecrets.
Orios Venture Partners comprises of an eminent advisory board of industry veterans including Rajan Anandan (Managing Director, Google India), Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of People Group which owns businesses such as Shaadi.com) Shujaat Khan (Blue River Capital) and Raj Chinai (Harvard Angels).
Orios will invest in early stage companies from Seed to Series A and Series B with investments ranging from Rs. 50L to Rs. 20cr in key growth sectors like India internet and B2B Software Products for Global markets.
