Railways to Get 2 Lakh Cloud-controlled TV Displays at 2,000 Stations

As part of the centre’s Digital India campaign, about 2175 station have been selected for installing 2 lakh TV displays or rail display network (RDN) to update passengers about train arrivals, departures, seat availability, platform berthing and other related information.

The screens will be ‘cloud controlled’ to telecast the same message at the same time, across railway stations in the country. The screens will have both audio and video facilities, and over 50% of these screens will display advertisements. The Railway Ministry said it expects to earn about Rs 1000 crore from it.
