CramBuddy wants to make Cramming easier for teens

Learning can be fun. Well, at least some parts of it is fun if you like the subject. But ratta lagana, aka. cramming, is easily one of the worst part of a student’s life, especially when you have Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds to play and can’t afford to miss out on Facebook and Instant Messaging either.

CramBuddy, a new Android based app launched by MobiTatva Private Limited, wants to change that. The app enables easy cramming through social gaming and networking.

“An average of 70 per cent of subject content needs to be mugged. More than 60 percent of the current question paper pattern is based on memorised content,” says Mr Guru Dutt Bhardwaj, who is part of the core team of MobiTatva Private Limited.

How does it work?

The free app launched in October last year has crossed 2000 downloads. The company plans to launch other versions for iOS and mobile platforms in the third quarter of the calendar year, said Bhardwaj.

Currently, the app is free. However, MobiTatva wants to add exclusive content on a pay per pack basis. CramBuddy also has solution for institutes and corporates for training, information delivery and sharing.

The company was founded by the top leadership team of Agni Software Private Limited to make solutions for mobile and tablets. Chirag Patel, the Managing Director of Agni, Guru Dutt Bhardwaj, formerly of Electronic Automation Private Limited, Yusuff Hussain, Gautham Srikantaih, Gaurav Dingolia and Puneet Sachdev are part of the team.CramBuddy

There are a bunch of education focused free applications on the Android store but most of them don’t closely follow the school curriculum unlike CramBuddy. The app also sits nicely at the intersection of mobile and education, two sectors considered to be among the hottest this season.
