Mumbai based startup accelerator VentureNursery has announced its third batch of startups for its acceleration program to which five startups have been selected.
The accelerator said that nearly 150 startups from 29 cities were screened, out of which iLeathergraph, Peter’s Pan, Trelta, Perspective.ly and Catapooolt were selected. Four of these startups are from Mumbai while one is from Pune.
Recently, two of the graduates from the second batch of accelerator secured funding. Product aggregation company Klip.in and a video based interviewing solution InterviewMaster raised funds from VentureNursery.
Here is a look at what these newly chosen startups are up to.
A venture by Starting Blocks Media Ventures Pvt. Ltd Catapooolt is a crowd-funding platform with the focus on projects related to entertainment. Movies, music and arts are the main categories where startup focuses. Backers contribute to a project by providing monetary benefits and in return they get rewards. Globally, Crowd funding is a $6 Bn industry and portals such as Kickstarter are helping individuals and organizations to fulfil their dreams. PikAVenture is another Indian startup working in the similar domain.
Founded in December 2011, the startup offers personalised leather products with the option of printing autographs, signatures, monograms or alphabets on leather products. iLeathergrapg is an identity theme based leather product brand and provide products related to travel, mobile phones, digital gadgets, business accessories, wallets and bags.
Perspective.ly is a content recommendation platform. The product recommends news, articles and information using machine learning and natural language processing techniques. Target clients are blogs, publishers and media houses. Besides personalized content, company also plans to give contextual recommendations to increase its user engagement.
Pune based restaurant Peter’s Pan offers quick dining options. Currently it has three outlets in Pune city. Western style meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks are offered by the startup at affordable prices. Soon it plans to expand operations pan India.
Founded by Varun Achar and Vaishali Singh, Trelta is an online application connecting doctors, patients, laboratories and pharmacies with the aim to make health care easy and accessible. Recently startup launched a practice tools for doctors which is a web based desktop for apps.
VentureNursery was founded in March 2012 by Shravan Shroff and Ravi Kiran. Graduating startups will pitch before a group of angel investors.
