Vaultize launches Mac OS X Support in its Enterprise Backup, Sharing and Mobility product
Enterprise backup service, Vaultize has expanded it’s backup service to Mac OS.
Vaultize’s innovative features like folder sync and group sync now works across Mac and Windows devices.
Vaultize targets all kinds of enterprises starting from SMEs to large enterprises. They target the very demanding needs of enterprise data backup on the cloud and this product is aimed at solving backup needs without much CAPEX. As this is based on a SaaS model, the upfront expenditure of companies is aimed to be less as hardware setup costs would be low. The OPEX, we assume, will be slightly higher than on premise backup solutions but that applies to most cloud solutions anyways.
“As enterprises and businesses are starting to embrace BYOD, Mac has become an integral part of our strategy.” says Ankur Panchbudhe – CTO and Co-founder of Vaultize. “More and more companies are now looking to control and secure business critical data on endpoints using and enterprise-grade solution like Vaultize. Additionally, Vaultize is gaining popularity in enterprises because of its secure file sharing under a centralized administration and control, allowing enforcement of corporate policies.”
The company (demoed at UnPluggd fourth edition) claims to be the first backup and sharing solution in the world to do both encryption and de-duplication together at source. While all solutions perform encryption at the server, Vaultize encrypts data at source before it leaves the device – making it the most secure backup and sharing solution in the world.
Vaultize offers flexible deployment options. Businesses can choose from Vaultize’s public cloud (hosted in Rackspace), private cloud (hosted with any cloud provider of customer’ss choice or on-premise) or Cloud-in-a-box appliance. Cloud-in-a-box is industry’s first purpose-built backup and sharing appliance – an integrated platform with a combination of enterprise-grade hardware and Vaultize cloud software.
Last month, Vaultize announced support for Google Apps backup and became the first storage vendor in the world to provide a single platform to securely backup and share business critical data on endpoints as well as Google Apps.
