Online exam preparation platform Toppr has raised $2 mn from Saif Partners & Helion Ventures. The company’s co-founder Zishaan Hayath told NextBigWhat that the plan is to invest in developing content and cracking new distribution channels.
Kashyap Deorah and Abhishek Jain were angel investors in the company. Toppr currently has 8000 registered users and wants to get to over a lakh users by the end of the year. Zishaan also runs Powai Lake Ventures, an angel investing network.
Toppr has preparation modules for Engineering, Medical and foundation courses ranging from Rs 4,900 to Rs 6,900.
Embibe, another engineering entrance preparation startup recently raised $4 mn from Kalaari Capital and Lightbox Ventures. Delhi based Studycopter (focused on GMAT), and startup Mytestbuddy are among its competitors in the space.
