The twin product range Emerald and Ruby offer wide coverage Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) and long range Point-to-Point (PTP) solutions based on WiFi 11n technology in the frequency range of 5.1-5.9 GHz which includes unlicensed spectrum of 5.8 GHz.
Emerald series consisting of base stations and Consumer Premise Equipment (CPEs) is designed for broadband and telephony for retail customers like residences and enterprises. The second in line, Ruby is meant for ISP backhaul and providing leased-line to premium customers. Business engagement includes supply of equipment to ISPs, network planning and deployment, and managed services. Sloka’s Indigo EMS monitors and manages networks remotely giving indication to the ISP if a subscriber does not get the guaranteed throughput.
The product line is also targeted for private network owners for providing campus connectivity, video surveillance, and tele-schooling projects. Solutions offered will enable the country to meet the target of 175 million broadband connections by the year 2017.
What’s interesting is that Sloka has developed unique architecture to make the radio units compact, easy to install and requires power as low of a 60W bulb. These can be installed on a pipe in rural villages and powered by solar panels.
Sloka raised 0.6mn$ from KITVEN fund in April, 2011 and offers all-wireless solution as a package to ISPs to rollout a broadband access network targeting residential and enterprise customers in India.
