ixigo.com has launched an innovative mobile app – “On the Way! ” that allows road travelers to access relevant information on all useful and interesting stoppages along their route.

One can use the app to search for trains by destinations or train numbers and can also find train routes & timings, real-time seat availability status for all journey classes, fares and also status.
Unless MMT’s routeplanner is powered by iXiGo (which doesn’t seem to be the case), isn’t MMT competing with iXiGo in this business? Given that iXiGo’s next big bet is Trip planner, do you see a conflict of interest w.r.t both companies launching similar products?

Unlike traditional search engines which make the use of linear results for a query in the form of links and pages with information, iXIGo’s Trip Planner represents the information in a visual manner that is appealing.
So, my experience (which might be biased) is that Indian seed-stage investors end up wasting a lot of the entrepreneur’s time. Seed-stage investing should be about investing in a strong team, a large target market and a nifty product.
And it’s not driving directions alone…you can look for other modes of transportation across flights, trains, buses and taxis too! Basically it all depends on the type of query you input. It shows relevant destination information with the top recommendations from the web. Currently the planner supports queries across 250 Indian cities covering modes of transportation, cheapest/fastest modes, distance, driving directions etc.
