Promoting small businesses, events or any commercial proposition is a daunting task and capital intensive affair. Rise of social networks like FaceBook and Twitter has changed that to some extent. But social media’s reach is limited.

Here comes – Plobal, a platform where local business owners can promote their businesses, latest offers and events in real time. Users can ask questions and get answers or recommendations from other locals or business owners that in real time too. Currently, the Pune based startup has launched in closed beta and will be launched on February 4 for everyone in Pune.

How does it work?

PlobalFor businesses Plobal offers SMS based updates along with analytics, scheduled updates, broadcasting the update to the businesses Facebook and Twitter pages. For users they can view updates in real time, initiate or join discussions, invite friends to join discussions and directly talk to business owners.

Through Plobal platform business owners can directly post information about their businesses online and talk to interested customers in real time. “We are currently launching in Pune on 4th of February followed by Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore by March,” said Atul Poharkar, Founder of Plobal.

Plobal conducted a closed beta for an hour which we accessed.  “We are targeting  restaurants, spas, gyms or clubs, event like gigs, theatre, food joints and city focused seminars looking to leverage live update and real time opportunity through the portal”.

Plobal will offer two types of monthly subscription – Premium and basic. Premium plan will enable businesses to have 6 live updates everyday and can also access analytics, conversion etc, while basic version will be allowed to have 3 live updates only sans any other features.
