Mumbai based gadget service platform, PICKME raises $1 Mn from Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai Angels

PICKME, a Mumbai based service provider, which collects and drop gadgets at consumers’ doorstep to authorized service centers for repair has raised $1 million in series A from Mumbai Angels, Bangalore Angels and Chennai Angels.

The company will use the funding to expand its footprints across new cities including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Jaipur and Pune. Currently, it has presence in 3 cities – Mumbai, Delhi (NCR) and Bangalore.

Speaking to NextBigWhat, Praful Wadyalkar, CEO, PICKME said “Presently we got $500,000 from the investors and remaining part will be accessed as it requires. Investment would help us to expand our operation and hiring”.

Till now, PICKME has answered more than 1 lakh consumers’ queries over the phone and gets around 40,000 calls every month. The company has also launched subscription based model through which it gives annual subscription to consumers for unlimited pickups and drops in Rs. 150.

“We have around 45,000 registered subscription with major chunk is coming from Mumbai and Delhi (NCR),” added Wadyalkar.

Started in early 2011 by Wadyalkar, Wilbret D Raj and Joseph Sudhakar, PICKmE accepts all handheld gadgets including mobile phones, tablets, cameras, watches, laptops, MP3 players, and data cards across all major brands like Sony, Apple, Samsung, Nikon, Cannon, Nokia, Micromax, Tag Heuer, Dell, HTC, HCL and Acer.
