In addition, the company announced that it has raised $14 million, including Series A funding from Trinity Ventures, Mohr Davidow Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners and Stanford University.

    This product is basically a replacement for expensive MPLS/Dedicated Leased line connectivity for individual corporate offices by moving the applications being run typically on top of that like VOIP/Video Conferencing/Inter-office File Sharing over windows network neighborhood etc to the public Internet.

    The cost savings are doubtful with falling cost of bandwidth, its a matter of tightening the screws on the ISPs to do better routing and providing better throughput on VPNs running on top of public Internet instead, compared to that this solution might turn out to be more expensive.

    Point to point links are today more expensive than Internet bandwidth bought in bulk, most buyers of leased lines like CSCs, SWANs etc are seriously deluded ( or bureaucratically hobbled ) folks prone to wasting money ( to CYA) instead of using something simpler running over the public Internet.

    Using terminology LAN acceleration instead of WAN optimization might be better for marketing this product. It took me some time to cut through the marketing BS to find out what the product actually does.
