Within the first 4 days of iPhone 5S and 5C launch, Reliance has sold 3,500 units of the devices. When RCom announced its bundled offer, there were several criticism/analysis of the offer (the upfront cost of the two device was zero), but the two-year contract scheme has seen as many as 10,000 users booking the device (via).
Lesson : While most of analysts/bloggers are right about Reliance’s offer being not so great (given their network coverage, lack of support), the consumer is (probably) looking at what Reliance is selling (or marketing) – i.e latest iPhone with no upfront cost, topped with unlimited data and voice calls. What else do you need!
Suggestion to Apple : Maybe you can send more units to India, even during the device launch phase?
