After the review of MySmartPrice last week, we got a lot of requests for reviewing IndiaBookStore.net, a weekend project from Animesh Jain of iTasveer team. So, here it goes IndiaBookStore, on public demand.
IndiaBookStore is a comparison engine for online book stores of India. The app currently pulls data from 5 major sellers. Although, the problem that IBS is trying to address is same as Iglooo and MySmartPrice but execution wise IBS is completely different. IBS pulls textual data through its servers but calls the images from the book store sites at the clients end itself (and not at their server), thereby increasing the speed. The results are listed they come in and then the user is given an option to sort them by relevance. It uses Google Suggest API in their search box to give relevant keywords. IBS’s core competence is in speed. If you know what you are looking for, IBS can surely help reach their faster.
The UI is clean and simple but the app certainly needs some work on the result relevance. IBS is working on building an API through which any bookstore can serve its data in the results page.
Do give IndiaBookStore a spin and let us know if it meets your expectations.
