Porn star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, deceased Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna and former Kingfisher calendar girl Poonam Pandey were the top three people Indians searched for a sustained period of time in 2012, according to the latest Google Zeitgeist.

The Sunny Leone’s Bollywood debut Jism 2 also made it to the list of top 10 movies searched for in India along with Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore. Leone, born Karenjit Kaur Vohra, was one of the 12 top porn stars named by Maxim in 2010.

The annual compilation of some of the most searched items on the Internet this year was released on Wednesday. The Google Zeitgeist is based on 1.2 trillion searches in 146 languages on Google.

Worldwide, deceased singer Whitney Houston, Psy’s Youtube mega hit Gangnam Style and Hurrycane Sandy were the top three trending topics. Skyfall, The Hunger Games and Prometheus were the feature films that made it to the top three trending feature films.

The iPad3, Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPad Mini were the top three trending consumer electronic goods.
