Exclusive : Google India Kills the Music Search Service
Google India launched the Music search service in 2010 and while the service never took off in a big way (Google stopped updating the catalogue after December 2010), the service is now shut down.
Google.co.in/music now, navigates to Google India’s search page.
The service was launched with much fanfare and had cataloged songs from SaReGaMa, In.Com and Saavn.com.
“When you enter any music-related query (such as the name of a song, artist or album) at Google Search — your search results will provide you a single click access to your songs. You can stream these songs unlimited number of times on your computer. Please note that songs will be streamed directly by our partners to your computer” [official launch announcement]
The service, though nicely executed by the product team never got the deserved catalogue refresh.http://www.nextbigwhat.com/google-music-search-india-shutdown-297/http://www.nextbigwhat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/google-india-music-search-495x360.jpghttp://www.nextbigwhat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/google-india-music-search-110x80.jpg
