Karbonn Mobiles has partnered with Dolby Laboratories to bring Dolby Sound to its mobile phones. The first device, post this partnership is Karbonn KT81
Karbonn Mobiles is a joint venture between Delhi-based Jaina Group and Bangalore based UTL Group. Karbonn already has over 650 service centres established across the country.
“Dolby’s collaboration with Karbonn Mobiles will help us enhance our ability to address the needs of mobile enthusiasts throughout the country. Now people can enjoy better listening experiences anytime, anywhere, whether using the speakers on their phone or a pair of headphones with Karbonn KT81.” [Pankaj Kedia, Country Manager, Dolby Laboratories, India]
Given that pirated MP3s fill up a lot of phone storage space in India, expect this phone to make a sound business for Karbonn.
What’s your opinion? Does Dolby has enough consumer branding to sell the ‘Dolby-inside’ to a consumer from Tier-2 and Tier-3 city?
