TRAI has pretty much given up on NDNC (National Do Not Call Registry) and is now mulling over ‘Do Call Registry’
Spam is reaching out to you via SMS in a big way owing to the fact that it is much cheaper and practically is just a fraction of voice spam.
Pune based startup, Optinno (we covered their earlier product, mobiwatchman that blocks spam calls) has launched smsblocker, a sms spam controller application.
The app, smsblocker checks for 6000 spam cases and detects the spam automatically (no alerts) and one can define filters (for instance,sms alerts from your bank account) etc.

The app (currently works on Nokia, Sony and Samsung phone) costs $2 (INR 99/), and the startup is giving away the app for free till June 28th.

Our Spam Manager black annoying sms along with annoying calls too and cost only Rs 9(~25c). But Admittedly .. this app has some artificial intelligence built in it for users looking for the same !!
In general downloadable applications market right now is broken due to lack of pipes to take them to market or lack of good App marketplace like apple app store.
One has to have good spirit & guts to admit the shortcoming. When people try to humiliate the new competitor, you have shown a much mature & generous attitude! Thanks for the genuine feedback, Lalit!
Nice application development in fact and guys for initial phase there will be some bugs and disadvantages but give them time and they will come with the type of product you want. I think we all should use this and give our feedback to them if somethings are missing or not workings properly and this would give them direction to work in right way.
