Updated: Bingo! Bangalore Based Bash Gaming Acquired by GSN Games for about $160 mn

Social casino games company GSN Games is acquiring Bangalore based Bash Gaming, one of the few Indian gaming companies that have rapidly grown on the back of the social networking phenomenon. The deal size wasn’t disclosed.

The company that makes games on mobile devices, tablets and Facebook, last year made a total revenue of $55 million just from their Bingo Bash game. The breakout hit Bingo Bash has more than 4.8 million monthly active users on platforms including Facebook, iOS, Android and Kindle.

Jeff Karp, the Executive Vice President at GSN Games said

With the Bash Gaming acquisition, we will expose our millions of social casino players to the Bingo Bash experience, while introducing existing Bingo Bash players to our highly engaging games including Wheel of Fortune Slots and Deal or No Deal Slots.

With the acquisition, GSN Games will now have two of the top 10 overall grossing iPad apps of 2013 with a 10 million monthly active users in total.

The Law Suit

Earlier, Game Show Network (GSN) had sued Bash Gaming for backing out of a $160 mn acquisition deal, to sell the company to a different buyer. According to a report on The Hollywood Reporter, the suit sought to enforce the deal which was verbally and in principal agreed upon earlier.

GSN, a joint venture between Sony Corp and Direct TV, asked for damages of $25,000 plus the difference amount between its offer and the new offer for which Bash had backed out of the deal. With this, the law suit will end.

Update: Lalit told NextBigWhat that the law suit will now be dropped. In an e-mail he added

We both have millions of loyal user base to cross promote our games, this is a great opportunity especially when the UA costs on mobile have been rising exponentially.
